Overview

Internship supporting the United Nations Operations and Crisis Centre (UNOCC) in providing situational awareness, analytics, and crisis management support to UN senior leadership.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support analysis and visualization of data from UNOCC Data Repositories
  • Support drafting and formatting of meeting minutes, outcome notes, briefings, country profiles, visual aids and/or presentations
  • Conduct open-source monitoring and research
  • Support organization of enhanced monitoring and crisis management meetings
  • Undertake other assignments as required
Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) OR enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent) OR graduated with a university degree and commence internship within one year of graduation
  • Preferably in political science, history, international relations, law or a related field
  • Computer literate in standard software applications
  • Demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter

Work Modality
in person and full-time (35 hours per week), on the United Nations premise working arrangement from (New York, USA). This internship is designed to be full-time and in-person but can be adjusted based on the needs of the successful candidate to hybrid mode (in-person/remote).
