Overview
The Child Rights Governance Project Officer is responsible for coordinating and providing technical support to Civil Society Organization (CSO) partners for a project focused on CSO Strengthening. The role aims to ensure children's rights are realized and respected by empowering civil society actors to claim civic space and hold duty-bearers accountable.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and provide technical support to CSO partners for a specific project on CSO Strengthening.
- Support partners in implementing interventions to promote and monitor child rights and influence duty bearers.
- Work with partners in planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring, and reporting project outputs, outcomes, and impact.
- Mainstream and implement crosscutting themes, including gender and disability inclusion, climate resilience, and child safeguarding.
- Potentially participate in emergency response activities.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant work experience in child right governance, child protection, preferably in the advocacy of children’s rights.
- Strong understanding of UNCRC, UPR, decentralization and de-concentration guidelines, child rights reporting, good governance, social accountability, and related policies.
- Proven experience strengthening the capacity of CSO partners, gradually a shifting power, and coordinating CSOs and duty bearers at both national and sub-national levels.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the country.
Qualifications
- A degree in Social Sciences, Law, Development Studies, Human Rights, Legal Studies, or another relevant field is required.
- Extensive and substantive practical experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
