Overview

The Project Finance Manager - Germany contributes to the effective financial planning, monitoring, oversight, and control of projects funded through IRC DE and implemented by IRC’s country offices and non-IRC partners.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct critical reviews and quality control of Project proposals’ budgets (incl. financial annexes), Project budget rearrangements, cost modifications, and financial reports.
  • Support the submission of timely, accurate, and complete proposal budgets, budget modifications, and financial reports to donors, including ECHO and German statutory donors, by reviewing and approving all related financial documentation.
  • Support the management of award budgets, cashflows, donor funding, etc., and carry out the allocation of overheads (i.e., indirect costs).
  • Support the fiscal year-end and statutory audit processes to ensure that transactions reported are consistent with awards’ financial reports.
  • Conduct monitoring visits to country offices when required.
  • Review financial documents from the specifics of donors’ requirements, including grant compliance, planning & budgeting, year-end closing, funds carried forward, accounting, and reporting.
  • Prepare all necessary accounting records for the awards’ portfolio.
Required Experience

A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a finance professional with ECHO/EC/German government-funded grants or grants funded by similar donors. Familiarity with the aid system and understanding of donor and governmental requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, or similar field; or equivalent work experience.

English language skills at C1-Level according to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF).
Languages Preferred
French, German, Spanish knowledge is an asset

Remuneration
A starting salary between 63.000 and 67.000 Euro gross per year (for full-time, 40 hours/week) as well as an annual salary increase.
