Overview
The Finance Supervisor is responsible for supporting key accounting functions, with a primary focus on monthly and quarterly donor invoicing, ensuring accuracy and alignment with donor and IRC HQ requirements. The role also supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day financial operations including payment review, accounts payable, accounts receivable reporting and invoicing, CIK transactions.
- Oversee office month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of financial reports and donor invoices.
- Prepare, review, and submit monthly and quarterly donor invoices.
- Review accounting transactions, including credit card transactions and purchase orders.
- Direct and supervise assigned finance staff.
- Support compliance with funders’ requirements and IRC internal controls.
- Respond to finance-related inquiries and provide guidance to program staff.
- Lead or support quarterly internal audit reviews.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process.
- Represent the Finance department in cross-departmental initiatives.
Required Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience applying accounting and bookkeeping procedures and standards.
- Prior experience in a nonprofit or grant-funded environment strongly preferred.
- At least one (1) year of formal staff supervision experience.
Qualifications
- Completion of at least two professional or college-level accounting or bookkeeping courses required.
- A four-year degree in accounting, finance, or a related field strongly preferred.
