Overview

Support and coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and reporting activities of the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) Programme.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support and coordinate the overall implementation of the RE2CLID project.
  • Provide operational and technical guidance and support to project staff.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of project progress against approved objectives.
  • Assist in project development and resource mobilization efforts.
  • Supervise project staff, consultants, and implementing partners.
  • Contribute to coordination and compliance with implementing partners and stakeholders.
  • Support effective internal coordination within the Country Office.
  • Support information management, knowledge sharing, and visibility efforts.
  • Contribute to the drafting of high-quality narrative and financial reports.
  • Participate in relevant coordination platforms.
  • Participate in relevant coordination mechanisms, technical working groups, and UN fora.
  • Undertake duty travel as required.
Required Experience
  • Master’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience; or University degree with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, early warning systems, emergency preparedness, and/or community-based resilience programming.
  • Experience in project management, implementation, coordination, and monitoring.
  • Experience in project development and capacity-building activities.
  • Experience liaising with government authorities, donors (including the European Union), and national/international partners.
  • Experience in organizing consultations, workshops and seminars with stakeholders.
  • Experience in policy engagement and representation with national authorities, UN partners, inter-agency coordination groups, NGOs and CSOs is preferred.
  • Work experience in DRC is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Humanitarian Affairs, Economic Development, Business or Public Administration, International Studies, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
  • University degree in the above fields.

Languages Required
• Fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
• Working knowledge of Swahili is an advantage.
Contract Duration
1 year with possibility of extension
