Overview

The role involves providing case and secretarial assistance within the Directorate-General for Competition, specifically in the Foreign Subsidies Directorate. The purpose is to support the enforcement of the Foreign Subsidies Regulation by identifying and assessing subsidies granted by non-EU countries.

  • Preparing documents
  • Organising meetings and missions
  • Requesting and managing translations
  • Monitoring deadlines
  • Preparing and launching inter-service consultations and adoption procedures
  • Assisting in recruitment
  • Managing functional mailboxes
  • Ensuring relevant procedures are applied correctly and timely in foreign subsidies investigations and decision adoptions
  • Contacts with internal and external stakeholders
Required Experience

Appropriate professional experience of at least three years, if secondary education diploma is the highest qualification.

Qualifications
  • A level of post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or
  • A level of secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education
Other Details
Languages Required
• A thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU • A satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of other languages will be an asset.
Contract Duration
The duration of the 1st contract will be of 1 to 4 years. The contract might then be extended only once for a maximum of 2 years.

Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances. The recruitment grade will be calculated based on the qualifications and the number of years of professional experience.
