Overview
Support one or more JIU review teams through research, analysis, documentation, administration, and communication with stakeholders. The role aims to support the delivery of the JIU mandate.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in team meetings, collective wisdom meetings, and external stakeholder meetings, potentially including missions outside Geneva.
- Prepare meeting notes and mission reports.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis using technologies such as MS Excel and AI.
- Support drafting of interview guides, questionnaires, and surveys, and consolidate/analyze findings.
- Present findings clearly and concisely, using data visualization tools.
- Prepare relevant text, tables, graphs, and document lists for key documents.
- Maintain a list and contact details of interviewed individuals.
- Prepare cost estimates for travel arrangements.
- Support recruitment processes for external consultants and interns.
- Track key project milestones.
- Prepare notification letters and coordinate their distribution.
- Prepare meeting invitations, follow up on responses, and monitor attendance.
- Prepare correspondence, monitor, and consolidate replies.
- Prepare letters for report distribution.
- Create review document folders and sub-folders.
- Proofread and format documents according to UN editorial rules.
- Liaise with editors and translators, prepare and provide supporting files.
- Support the team in addressing editors' comments.
- Undertake printing and uploading of reports, and support communication and outreach activities.
- Keep up-to-date information packages on JIU participating organizations.
- Monitor acceptance and implementation of JIU recommendations.
- Actively participate in continuous quality assurance and improvement activities.
- Support internal and external JIU communication activities.
Required Experience
- At least seven (7) years of experience in research or analysis in the context of oversight activities, strategic, financial or operational analysis, risk management or performance monitoring is required.
- The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
- Experience in working in the United Nations or any other similar international organization is desirable.
- Experience in supporting internal and external communication activities is desirable.
- Experience in drafting and reviewing public documents, while complying with applicable editorial rules is desirable.
- Experience in organizing surveys and interviews with diverse stakeholder groups and analysing the responses received is desirable.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
