Overview

Provide accounting and administrative support to the Finance team, ensuring high quality, accuracy, and consistency of work in accordance with UNDP rules and regulations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in ensuring proper control of supporting documents for payment invoices and systematic archiving.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports for projects.
  • Process payments and financial documentation.
  • Maintain proper filing system for financial records and documents.
  • Maintain internal expenditures control system.
  • Provide information for reports on financial status, procedures, exchange rates, costs, and expenditures.
  • Extract, input, copy and file data from various sources.
  • Follow-up with UN agencies for information and supporting documents.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, faxes, memoranda, and reports.
  • Timely cost recovery for provided services.
  • Support in preparation and timely submission of VAT reports.
  • Perform simple data entries into the internet banking system.
  • Provide backstopping support to Finance Assistant.
  • Participate in training for operations/projects staff on finance.
  • Provide contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.
  • Support the implementation of operational strategies and procedures.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 4 years (with high school diploma) or 1 year (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant finance and accounting experience at the national or international level is required.
  • Experience in the use of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and web-based management systems such as ERP financials and database packages.
Qualifications
  • Secondary education is required, OR
  • A university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in Finance or Accounting, Business Administration, Management or other relevant field.
  • Part-qualified accountants from an internationally accredited institute of accountancy will have a distinct advantage.
