Overview
Internship opportunity within the Defence Policy & Planning Division (DPP) at NATO, focusing on defence policy and planning at the strategic political-military level.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring defence progress in NATO allied nations;
- Assist DPP staff officers in developing and formulating policy and political military advice;
- Assist in the preparation of policy papers, checklists and speeches;
- Draft meeting minutes, decisions sheets, reports and agendas;
- Attend debates and negotiations on defence policy and planning issues;
- Assist in monitoring NATO-EU coherence in defence planning;
- Assist in the framing of NATO’s overall defence policy;
- Support aspects of the Nuclear Policy Directorate’s core business.
Required Experience
- At least two years of university level studies OR equivalent education OR currently a student OR a recent graduate (degree obtained no longer than 12 months ago);
- Previous experience with other international organizations, national administration, research or industry (desirable).
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or in the final stage of a Master’s degree relevant to the requested area of expertise (desirable).
