ASSOCIACAO INTERCULTURAL PARA TODOS Barcelos, Portugal Volunteer opportunity: Intercultural Team Volunteering for All

Key Responsibilities

Volunteers will support the organization of cultural activities such as the Festa das Cruzes Festival and other community events, working in an international team alongside participants from different countries. Tasks include event setup, assisting visitors, promoting activities, and creating a welcoming and creative environment for the local community. This 16-day experience offers a unique opportunity to develop intercultural skills, gain hands-on volunteering experience, and immerse yourself in Portuguese culture while contributing to a more inclusive and connected Europe. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Volunteers will be accommodated in shared houses together with other participants, providing a comfortable and social living environment. A food allowance will be provided to cover daily meal expenses. Local transportation related to project activities will be organized by the hosting organization using its own vehicle. Training during the activity Volunteers will take part in an onboarding programme at the beginning of the activity, including an introduction to the host organisation, the local context, and the weekly plan. Throughout the project, they will receive non-formal learning sessions. They will also be introduced to the Youthpass process and supported in reflecting on their learning outcomes during the project. Participant profile We are looking for motivated and open-minded young people who are interested in volunteering, intercultural exchange, and community engagement. Participants should be willing to work in a team, take initiative, and actively contribute to project activities. No specific experience is required; however, a positive attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to learn are essential. Volunteers should be comfortable working in dynamic environments such as festivals and public events. Basic knowledge of English is recommended to facilitate communication within the international group.
