Overview
The Associate Engineer will apply professional engineering knowledge and expertise in the planning, design, and implementation of engineering projects within the Engineering and Facility Management Section.
Key Responsibilities
- Applies engineering calculations, practices, and precedents in design, construction, or repair of various structures and systems.
- Conducts preliminary site investigations and prepares design layouts.
- Produces cost data and estimates, and participates in budget projections.
- Completes architectural and engineering drawings using AutoCAD software.
- Converts old drawings to AutoCAD files and maintains architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical plans.
- Develops technical data, drawings, and records for specifications.
- Analyzes project proposals for technical feasibility.
- Liaises with other engineers and mission specialists.
- Undertakes research for engineering projects.
- Prepares engineering presentations.
- Evaluates technical proposals from bidders/vendors.
- Provides recommendations for improvement to Unit workflows and implements them.
- Applies standard engineering practices in construction, maintenance, and repairs.
- Performs other duties as required.
Required Experience
A minimum of two (02) years of progressively responsible experience in engineering, architecture, or related areas is required.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, architecture, or another related field. A first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
