Overview
The Budget Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and management of the Country Office’s integrated budget within a complex donor environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides information on fund allotments and availability of funds.
- Allocates new and existing programme funds and processes reallocations and rephasing of funding.
- Supports the budget specialist to monitor and update planning budgets.
- Supports the budget specialist with preparation and processing of salary cost distributions.
- Monitors grant start and end dates, budget execution, and fund utilization.
- Monitors emergency funding by preparing quarterly financial tracking service sector reports.
- Supports the budget specialist to prepare financial monitoring reports and identify potential financial risks.
- Conducts financial reviews of financial reports and proposal budgets.
- Supports the year-end closure process.
- Supports the budget specialist in the rollout of staff capacity-building initiatives.
Required Experience
- 1 year of relevant work experience in budget management and monitoring its execution.
- Experience in managing system operations of the Organization and producing budget related status report.
Qualifications
• Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related fields.
