Overview
The Associate Medical Movement Operations Officer is responsible for guiding all medical movement operations activities and clinical consultation services in the USA.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and validate medical information packages for severe medical cases and share with resettlement agencies.
- Process and track medical movements, information, and travel requirements using IOM Information systems (MiMOSA and RMI).
- Discuss upcoming medical movements with escorts/Operations staff and review travel plans.
- Clarify medical travel requirements and ensure medical reports are valid and in compliance with IOM SOPs.
- Ensure international and domestic bookings/itineraries for medical and vulnerable cases are done in the best possible way and comply with IOM SOPs.
- Coordinate special travel arrangements between IOM sending missions, IOM U.S., IOM domestic service providers and IOM Ports of Entry (POE).
- Facilitate post-arrival hospitalization process by collecting, validating and sharing post-arrival recommendations.
- Support POEs and U.S. Operations in assisting refugees requiring emergency health care and hospitalization.
- Keep track of IOM medical movements/escorts and provide periodic reports.
- Create and address medical incident reports.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IOM U.S. Operations SOPs and relevant guidelines.
- Provide input and participate in testing of IOM Information systems covering movement of medical cases.
- Serve as IOM U.S. focal point on IOM USRAP medical movements, monitoring and responding to inquiries.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- University degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution with at least three years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in medical movement and medical escorts coordination is an asset.
- Experience in liaising with resettlement partners, international organizations, and health services providers is an advantage.
- Knowledge and experience with the health segment of Unites States Refugees Admission Programme (USARP) is an advantage.
- Prior Movement Operations, transportation-related and/or management experience a strong advantage.
- Knowledge of IOM's administrative, financial and business rules and practices is desirable.
Qualifications
University degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution.
