Overview
The CIS Security Assistant will perform and coordinate security management activities, apply and maintain specific security controls, conduct routine risk assessments, and support investigation of security breaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and coordinate security management activities such as monitoring security systems, responding to alerts, conducting security checks, and assisting in maintaining a safe environment.
- Apply and maintain specific security controls in compliance with organizational policies and risk assessments.
- Conduct routine risk assessments, contribute to secure systems configurations, and assist in threat intelligence gathering activities.
- Support investigation of security breaches, perform vulnerability assessments, and maintain records for incident management.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as documentation and tracking vulnerabilities.
Required Experience
- Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with at least three years of post-related experience, or secondary education with five years of post-related experience.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles (CIA triad) and practical experience with security systems, including Windows/Linux networks and CIS security.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk), log monitoring, vulnerability tracking, and general compliance best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to follow security processes and work in IT security roles.
