Overview
The Assistant Administrative Officer is responsible for the day-to-day management of administrative and logistical support activities, providing leadership and guidance to support staff and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertakes actions related to human resource activities including recruitment, placement, promotion, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, and separation of staff.
- Provides information regarding conditions of service, duties, responsibilities, privileges, and entitlements.
- Assists in developing the Field Office's work program and budget, monitoring budget/work program, and reallocating resources.
- Supports the implementation of procedures and systems for financial databases and follows up on pending entitlements, payments, and claims.
- Performs other related administrative duties such as operational travel programmes, monitoring accounts and payments, space planning, and equipment/software maintenance.
- Contributes to the collection and analysis of data, identification of trends, and provides draft insights for planning and reporting.
- Documents requirements and background information for data analysis.
- Provides guidance, training, and daily supervision to general service staff.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management is required. Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms (e.g. Umoja) is desirable. UN field mission experience or other international field experience is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualifications
First level university degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field is required.
