Overview
The Case Worker will support the provision of reception, orientation, referral, and assistance to vulnerable migrants.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out screening interviews with migrants to understand and assess their vulnerability, identify their specific needs and determine their eligibility for IOM assistance;
- Refer eligible beneficiaries for available services as per needs identified and within the limits of resources available;
- Assist IOM beneficiaries through provision of information on services available for migrants in Tunisia;
- Provide individualized and group orientation and support migrants through referrals to services available;
- Follow-up with IOM partners responsible for provision of assistance provided through referral;
- Support the process of case management to identify short, medium and long-term solutions for every migrant assisted;
- Support in the preparation and submission of financial documents in relation to direct assistance to vulnerable migrants;
- Assist to the implementation of outreach activities;
- Compile case reports and maintain case files for each beneficiary assisted and prepare statistical reports as requested;
- Maintain a professional and neutral behavior, as well as empathy with migrants;
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Proven experience in the field of assistance to migrants and / or humanitarian activities targeting vulnerable individuals.
- Experience with governmental authorities, the UN and / or other national/international institutions.
- Experience in working with non-governmental organizations is an asset.
- Knowledge of Tunisia and regional issues in the thematic area of migration and health is a distinct advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in Social Work, Health, Psychology or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience or
- High School degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience
