Overview
Online volunteer to assist on emblematic incidents and thematic monitoring priorities, with research on human rights violations, working closely with the legal reporting officers and desk officers.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct open-source research on assigned human rights topics or incidents using publicly available information.
- Prepare short weekly summaries (1–2 pages) highlighting key findings, trends, and sources.
Required Experience
- Strong experience and background in human rights, humanitarian, and crisis management is desirable and considered an asset.
- Experience analyzing social media feeds and other open-source platforms for information gathering.
- Proficiency in qualitative research methods and data analysis, including summarizing and synthesizing large volumes of information.
- Strong public speaking skills in English and Arabic.
- Familiarity with creating data visualizations.
- Analytical thinking, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of Arabic is an asset.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Persistence, self-management, and the ability to work under pressure.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Human Rights, Political Science, International Relations, or related disciplines.
