Overview

The Education Project Officer will be responsible for the effective implementation, monitoring, and reporting of educational activities, providing technical guidance to partner field staff, particularly in the alternative education program. The role involves representing IRC in coordination forums and working groups.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead planning and implementation of activities, including logistical planning with implementing partners.
  • Oversee daily project implementation, ensuring timeliness and quality of activities.
  • Monitor progress against objectives, results, budget, resources, and work plans.
  • Ensure child protection and WASH are integrated into school activities and educational communities.
  • Represent IRC in the Education Cluster and other coordination mechanisms.
  • Produce monthly activity reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the MEAL officer on data collection tool design and data submission.
  • Conduct regular field visits for coaching, supervision, and program monitoring.
  • Ensure accurate and timely collection, consolidation, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Validate field deliverables submitted by partner organizations.
  • Ensure educational activities adhere to international technical and humanitarian standards.
  • Proactively promote high-quality EiE technical approaches by staff and partners.
  • Support educational needs assessments, information gathering, and partner capacity building plans.
  • Support the preparation and tracking of the procurement plan.
  • Ensure timely procurement, delivery, quality control, and distribution of goods and services.
  • Supervise the management and accountability of project assets and stocks.
  • Sensitize partners on their roles, responsibilities, and clear objectives.
  • Promote a collaborative and respectful work culture.
  • Build partner capacity through training and coaching.
  • Regularly assess the security context in operational areas.
  • Encourage staff to promptly report security incidents and risks.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in project planning and management, in both development and emergency settings.
  • Computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet, Outlook).
Qualifications

• A university degree in education, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field is required.

Languages Required
• possess a good command of French and English.
Languages Preferred
• Knowledge of local languages in the Logone and Chari division (Arabic chaos, Kotoko, Mousgoum, Toupouri, Massa) is an asset.
