Overview

The New Roots Marketing intern will promote New Roots farmers markets and ensure smooth market operations and excellent customer experience. The role involves outreach, farmer trainings, market data entry, and assisting with market management.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outreach to customers in Salt Lake City and West Valley areas.
  • Create targeted marketing campaigns for Redwood Farmers Market and CSA program.
  • Assist in developing and implementing farmer trainings.
  • Perform farmers market data entry and record keeping.
  • Assist farmers with writing weekly vegetable lists and labeling.
  • Price CSA vegetables and CSA bag allocations.
  • Assist with managing farmers markets, including in-person market staffing.
Required Experience
  • Background or demonstrated interest in food systems, agriculture, community development, public health, anthropology/cultural studies, and/or marketing.
  • Experience working with English as a Second Language learners and communicating with the aid of an interpreter is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CSAs, local food systems, and food access programming a plus (not required).
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and basic computer skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Background check is required.

Remuneration
This is an unpaid internship position. No financial compensation, including compensation for relocation, is available.
