Overview

The consultant will co-develop and deliver a national course to strengthen the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process in Nepal within the renewable energy sector. The role aims to integrate national expertise, address EIA gaps, and promote cross-sector collaboration.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) and develop a TNA report.
  • Develop a proposed course syllabus and training manual.
  • Support training co-delivery, including preparations, logistics, and co-facilitation.
  • Compile training materials and outputs for a training report.
Required Experience
  • At least 7 years experience working in environmental policy, environmental governance, natural resource management, climate and disaster risk management, and/or renewable energy or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and conducting trainings and capacity building activities.
  • Experience working with government institutions and national stakeholders in Nepal.
  • Demonstrated competence in developing and/or facilitating government institutional capacity and coordination.
  • Practical experience in delivering university-level lectures and trainings is desirable.
Qualifications

An advanced university degree (Masters degree or equivalent) in environmental policy, environmental governance / natural resource management, forestry / forest management, climate and disaster risk management, renewable energy or related field is required. A first level (undergraduate) degree alongside 2 additional years of relevant experience in environmental policy or environmental governance or natural resource management may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
