Overview
The ICLA Technical Assistant will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation of ICLA projects for the NRC Area Northeast office, focusing on legal aid for conflict-affected populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the implementation of civil and legal identity, housing, land, property (HLP) rights and collaborative dispute resolution (CDR) activities.
- Prepare and develop status reports.
- Ensure proper filing of documents.
- Promote and share ideas for improvement.
- Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees.
- Involve and inform communities and community leaders.
- Break down operational plans into weekly, monthly and quarterly implementation plans.
- Assist officers to ensure timely procurement and distribution of materials.
- Perform any other professional duties as requested.
- Assist in the direct implementation of legal and civil identity activities, HLP activities and CDR activities.
- Assist in documentation of project achievements and deliverables.
- Contribute in the development of training materials and information dissemination materials.
- Engage in community mobilisation and beneficiary engagement.
- Provide updates and contribute to an updated M&E system.
Required Experience
- Experience from working in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Some knowledge of English
- Work experience in the field of law (e.g. courts, attorney or legal aid agencies) and humanitarian protection.
- Preferably experience in working with displaced populations.
Qualifications
• University Degree in law or social sciences from a recognized Nigerian university
