Overview
The Security/Access Assistant will support the sub-office in implementing access and security strategies, ensuring a coordinated approach to humanitarian access and enabling WFP to execute its programs effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to refining operational modalities for access constraints.
- Support the country office, sub-offices, and partners in operationalizing alternative modalities.
- Support the design of access and negotiation tactics.
- Proactively collect information from partners and stakeholders.
- Conduct a review of secondary data and compile an inventory of available assessments.
- Create and maintain contact directories.
- Contribute to local security analysis, providing information on risks affecting humanitarian access.
- Transmit critical information impacting operations and personnel movements in real-time.
- Participate in the assessment of routes and operational areas.
- Ensure close coordination with the security team.
- Provide technical support for security assessments, risk analyses, and operational planning.
- Maintain close relationships with local authorities, humanitarian actors, and security agencies.
- Contribute to securing and expanding WFP operations through negotiations.
- Support the implementation of access and security strategies.
- Contribute to the regular documentation of access meetings.
- Draft periodic analyses and reports.
- Develop and maintain a mapping of key actors and operational areas.
- Support the implementation of strengthened operational coordination between Access and Security units.
- Provide real-time incident reports or alerts on security developments affecting humanitarian access.
- Participate in the assessment of logistical routes or intervention zones and propose mitigation measures.
Required Experience
• At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian access, security management, and community relations in conflict situations.
Qualifications
• Secondary diploma or equivalent, preferably in social sciences, politics, management, communication, or other related fields, accompanied by security training or certification.
