Overview

The Associate Human Resources Officer will support key HR projects, conduct research on best practices, and contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and practices.


Key Responsibilities
  • Providing support with key HR projects
  • Conducting research on best practices in regulations, rules, policies and procedures
  • Liaising with content experts on matters requiring in-depth analysis
  • Reviewing and analysing matters and proposing to HR management
  • Supporting and undertaking the development, monitoring and evaluation of HR policies and practices
  • Assisting and undertaking the development, monitoring and evaluation of HR management performance indicators
  • Assisting in collecting information and conducting preliminary analysis for position papers
  • Designing internal communication pieces
  • Providing support and guidance to content Units
  • Performing other duties as requested
Required Experience

A minimum of two years (four years with a first level university degree) of experience in the field of human resources is required. Experience in dealing with a wide range of HR topics is desirable. Experience in organizations applying the United Nations Common System of salaries and allowances is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree in Human Resources Management, business/public administration, law, social sciences, information management or other relevant field. A first-level university degree in one of the aforementioned fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience is accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Languages Required
Fluency in either of the working languages of the Court, English or French, is essential.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of the other working language (English or French) is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) would be considered an asset.
Contract Duration
One year appointment, with the possibility of extension in accordance with the JPO MoU
