Overview

The Legal Liaison Office is seeking a motivated student or recent graduate to gain professional experience in the legal field within an international organization. The intern will apply and develop theoretical knowledge through assigned projects and tasks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assistance in preparing materials for the 60th anniversary of the International Law Seminar in 2026, including research and possible publication.
  • Working on websites and/or presentations.
  • CMS Management (Drupal): Create and update content, oversee publishing lifecycle, comfortable with layout builders.
  • Adobe: Use InDesign for layout, Photoshop for image optimization, and Illustrator.
  • Advanced knowledge of Canva (visual design).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Some experience in journalism or preparing publications and related skills would be an asset.

Qualifications

The degree programme must be in the area of Law. Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.

Fluency in English and/or French is required. A good knowledge of the other is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
