Overview

The Education Officer supports the implementation of education activities at the field level, ensuring timely and quality delivery in line with approved plans and standards. The role works with schools, district education offices, and communities to support learning materials distribution, teacher support, and monitoring.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of project activities in targeted districts and schools.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly workplans.
  • Support organization and facilitation of trainings, workshops, meetings, and assessments.
  • Assist in the distribution of teaching and learning materials.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor implementation progress and identify challenges.
  • Ensure activities are implemented according to quality standards and procedures.
  • Support coordination of transportation and logistical arrangements.
  • Ensure proper filing and archiving of activity documentation.
  • Follow up with schools, district education offices, and community stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to teachers, school leaders, and volunteers.
  • Support the collection and submission of activity data, reports, and supporting documents.
  • Participate in assessments, monitoring visits, and project review meetings.
  • Support implementation of monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Collect, verify, and submit monitoring data.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits and share findings.
  • Ensure proper use of monitoring tools.
  • Support documentation of lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
  • Assist in facilitating third-party monitoring visits.
  • Ensure community participation and feedback mechanisms are integrated.
  • Support compliance with ESS monitoring systems and World Bank ESMF requirements.
  • Coordinate with school staff, district education offices, community leaders, and other local stakeholders.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with relevant education stakeholders.
  • Support communication and coordination between schools, communities, and the Technical Manager.
  • Coordinate with other Save the Children sectors for integrated programming.
  • Engage with children, parents, and communities.
  • Support targeted people during implementation of activities.
  • Assist in facilitating trainings and orientation sessions.
  • Promote understanding and compliance with Child Safeguarding policies.
  • Provide regular feedback to volunteers and field teams.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Required Experience
  • At least two years of experience in implementing education projects or community-based programs.
  • Experience working with I/NGOs, preferably with Save the Children or World Bank-funded projects.
  • Experience supporting teacher training, school supervision, or learning assessments (desirable).
  • Previous experience in emergency or development education programs (desirable).
  • Familiarity with education coordination mechanisms in Yemen (desirable).
Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor Degree preferably in Education or any relevant field.
