Overview
The Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) Non Technical Survey (NTS)/Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) Team Member implements NTS/EORE activities in Lebanon. The role involves conducting assessments, delivering risk education sessions, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct NTS/EORE activities safely and in accordance with DRC SOPs.
- Conduct NTS related desk assessment.
- Identification and assessment of hazardous areas through NTS activities.
- Conduct marking of contaminated areas activities.
- Lead Community Liaison (CL) efforts.
- Deliver EORE sessions to communities.
- Contribute to the development of EORE materials.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and data.
- Assist the NTS/EORE Team Lead in the identification of areas for NTS processes.
- Assist the NTS/EORE Team Lead in the planning of NTS tasks.
- Implement NTS processes in compliance with relevant SOPs, NMAS and IMAS.
- Assist marking activities.
- Comply with timelines, deadlines, and quality standards and SOPs.
- Understand and follow all safety SOPs.
- Conduct CL activities prior to, during and after all HMA activities.
- Ensure community feedback and concerns are accurately recorded and reported.
- Maintain working relations with local authorities, LMAC focal points, and affected communities.
- Ensure and maintain the equipment in good condition.
- Drive DRC vehicles during operations when required.
- Participate in the development of activity workplans.
- Comply with field coordination directions.
- Actively participate in internal NTS/EORE team meetings.
- Liaise with other DRC sectors.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the context.
- Support HMA workshops, events, and other such public events.
- Assist the development of EORE materials, methodologies, and tools.
- Upon request, support procurement efforts.
- Contribute to the lessons learnt reports on EORE activities.
- Cooperate during EORE monitoring and quality assurance/control.
- Any other task assigned by the Team Lead.
Required Experience
• At least 1 year of proven previous experience in EORE/NTS and/or community Liaison. (Desirable)
Qualifications
- Certificate/Accreditation of successful completion of NTS/EORE training course by LMAC.
- Diploma or equivalent professional qualification
