Overview
Provide oversight and ensure implementation of Non-Technical Survey (NTS)/Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) activities where DRC has established operations. This includes training, education, awareness on explosive ordnance (EO) and safe behavior, and identification of hazardous areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct supervision of the NTS/EORE team in the operational site.
- Obtain appropriate permission for NTS/EORE activities from relevant authorities.
- Lead and/or deliver EORE sessions to affected communities.
- Ensure teams have specific district information before deployment.
- Be aware of security alerts and evacuation routes, and establish an evacuation plan.
- Be responsible for teams’ technical equipment, inventory, transportation, and safety.
- Maintain communication within the team according to DRC communication SOP.
- Provide on-time reports on various matters.
- Control the quality and quantity of NTS/EORE work.
- Oversee activities of EORE Team Members.
- Collect data from EORE Team Members about EO information and accidents.
- Follow up with EORE Facilitators on training material.
- Establish and maintain liaison with local authorities and the community.
- Maintain good discipline within the team.
- Control the working condition of equipment and materials.
- Keep a record of daily, weekly, and monthly NTS/EORE activities.
- Collect pre-post forms and ensure SADD data collection.
- Prepare EORE monthly progress report.
- Maintain close contact and coordination with other DRC teams.
- Report on newly discovered mine accidents, incidents, SHAs, mines, and EOs.
- Conduct impact monitoring.
- Conduct refresher training for NTS/EORE team members.
- Drive DRC vehicles during operations when required.
- Be responsible for the conduct of the driver assigned to the NTS/EORE team.
- Any other task assigned by the Line Manager.
Required Experience
- Minimum two years of NTS/EORE experience in the Team Lead or similar position.
- A strong background in survey and have been involved in conducting a polygon survey/ NTS.
Qualifications
- Certificate/Accreditation of successful completion of NTS/EORE training course by LMAC.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
- LMAC NTS and LMAC EORE course certificates and EOD 3 qualified (desirable).
