Overview

The Programme Management Intern will support the Abidjan Convention Secretariat in implementing programmes related to marine and coastal ecosystems, pollution prevention, and sustainable blue economy initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision and coordination of programme implementation.
  • Conduct desk research.
  • Support the organization of meetings, side events, webinars, and experts group meetings.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate assigned programmes/projects.
  • Monitor and analyze programme/project development and implementation.
  • Review documents and reports, identify problems, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Liaise with relevant parties for follow-up actions.
  • Research, analyze, and present information.
  • Generate survey initiatives and design data collection tools.
  • Organize and prepare written outputs.
  • Assist in outreach activities and training workshops.
  • Participate in field missions.
  • Assist in activities related to budget funding and prepare related documents.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and provide insights.
  • Develop project proposals.
  • Liaise with country counterparts, partners, consultants, and funding bodies.
Qualifications
  • Are enrolled in a Master's or in a Ph.D. programme; or
  • Are enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's programme; or
  • Are within one year after graduation from a Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. programme. in the field of communications, public relations, graphic design, or equivalent.

Languages Required
Fluency in English and French is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
