Overview
Support the unit in the timely and accurate processing of the payroll for International, National staff members worldwide, and non-staff members.
Key Responsibilities
- Run the payroll for staff recruited worldwide.
- Generate and provide relevant payroll reports to HR focal points.
- Generate the final payroll reports for approval and closing of the payroll period.
- Generate and review/reconcile the final accounting file.
- Ensure that separations are cleared and accountabilities are settled before release of the final payments.
- Check the accuracy and validity of input calculations/coding.
- Verify and validate salary scales, allowances and other payroll master data.
- Maintain statistical reports and queries.
- Reconcile accounts monthly or periodically.
- Work closely with colleagues in the unit to promptly address queries, concerns, and issues related to staff salary.
- Run and verify reports, prepare calculations, make/amend data entries.
- Take action from planned, unexpected or exceptional changes in relevant policies.
- Help develop tools/matrix to automate and facilitate the work of the unit.
- Work closely with OSU and ITC on business requirements for system development or enhancement.
- Stay abreast of changes in human resources policies as they relate to benefits and allowances.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
- Four (4) years of relevant work experience with a completed university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field; or six (6) years of relevant work experience with a high-school diploma.
- Experience in direct payroll functions, preferably in a corporate payroll operation with knowledge of banking and accounting systems, generally accepted accounting principles, business risk controls.
- Experience with Oracle HR and payroll system and applications, an advantage.
- Thorough working knowledge of payroll systems and procedures, salary calculations and accounting made through payroll systems.
- IT-ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Functional Knowledge an advantage.
Qualifications
- Completed university degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or High-school diploma.
- Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) an advantage.
