Overview
The Senior Migration Health Programme Coordinator will be responsible for the operational management, technical supervision, effective coordination, and strategic direction of IOM migration health programming in DRC.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, prepare, implement and manage migration health projects and programs.
- Facilitate the development of new migration health programmes.
- Monitor and oversee the administration of multiple budgets and financial status of health projects.
- Lead the liaison with the DRC Government’s Ministry of Health.
- Develop, strengthen and expand partnerships with the Ministry of Health and other relevant organizations.
- Represent IOM in various forums and thematic groups at national level.
- Guide and represent IOM in engaging and/or coordinating with country Humanitarian and Health Cluster Coordination mechanisms.
- Develop initiatives, coordinate the implementation of projects and support cross-border technical cooperation.
- Contribute to regional migration health related programme analysis, reports and presentations.
- Support the government in initiatives to align national migration health strategies and priorities.
- Facilitate close collaboration with IOM's other service areas in the CO.
- Maintain a high level of science, global and public health methods expertise.
- Implement effective knowledge management practices.
- Analyse and regularly share critical developments and best practices with Migration Health Division at Regional and Global levels.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Seven years of relevant professional experience with a Master’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, Epidemiology or Public Health, or a related field.
- Nine years of relevant professional experience with a University degree in Medicine and a University degree in the above fields.
- Operational and field experience in outbreak preparedness and response, in public health, epidemiology, and risk communication interventions.
- Operational and field experience in migration, refugee and displaced persons’ health-related issues, programme development, including experience in evaluating health programs and protocols.
- Experience in health programming, including programme conceptualization, analysis and implementation; resource mobilisation.
- Familiarity with the health sector in the African region, with DRC experience an advantage.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Medicine, Epidemiology or Public Health, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or,
- University degree in Medicine and University degree in the above fields.
