Overview
Responsible and accountable for a strategic and diversified approach to fundraising and donor engagement that is coherent, consistent, and strategically aligned, to contribute to the Organization’s institutional goal of broadening its funding base, strengthening its long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of and implement a coherent and evidence based fundraising strategy.
- Define priority donor segments and value propositions, track emerging funding trends and opportunities.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing donors and proactively cultivate new partnerships.
- Liaise closely with the CoM and as needed, coordinate with the SRO, RO, HQ and relevant IOM COs.
- Identify, pursue, negotiate and secure programme and project funding opportunities.
- Monitor donor policies, strategic priorities and budget cycles.
- Coordinate the design and development of high quality, innovative and scalable programmes and projects.
- Facilitate timely internal review, clearance and submission of concept notes, proposals and donor reports.
- Represent the CO in meetings, briefings, conferences and events.
- Support Programme teams to meet donor reporting requirements.
- Create and maintain up to date donor profiles, stakeholder maps and concise guidance notes/briefs.
- Produce regular, analytical donor intelligence updates.
- Coordinate the development, monitoring and review of the CO strategic planning cycle.
- Prepare high impact visibility and presentation materials to support resource mobilization.
- Establish and maintain CO knowledge management practices for resource mobilization and donor relations.
Required Experience
- Five years of relevant professional experience; or, seven years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience working in international organization and knowledge of the UN system.
- Experience in the field of migration issues, project development and design, project implementation, and administrative and financial management.
- Experience in donor relations and grant management for specific donors of IOM’s interest.
- Previous experience and knowledge of donor funding mechanisms, particularly in the Country.
- Experience in project development, donor reporting and technical writing and editing, preferably in the international development/humanitarian sector.
- Experience with Results Based Management approach and other strategic planning approaches.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in International Relations, International Development, Political or Social Sciences, Migration Studies, Law, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
- University degree in the above fields.
