Overview
The Emergency Response Project Coordinator is responsible for the quality implementation of the "Localised RRM" project in the NW region of Cameroon, including monitoring and capacity strengthening of partner organizations, and managing contractual, control, and accountability aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares and monitors timely implementation of activities, organizes project meetings.
- Ensures beneficiary engagement, feedback, and reporting mechanisms.
- Coordinates internally within DRC Cameroon and externally with I/NGOs, local authorities, and clusters.
- Represents DRC in external meetings and ensures good relations with partners and authorities.
- Manages project documentation for audits.
- Provides technical oversight and quality assurance for activity implementation.
- Coordinates partner capacity assessment, training plans, and capacity building.
- Oversees partner commitment and compliance with sub-grant contracts.
- Conducts regular field visits to provide technical support and ensure quality of interventions.
- Contributes to organizational transformation towards greater localization and collects lessons learned.
- Sets up and updates a toolbox for partner capacity building.
- Shares quality internal and external reports and validates technical activity reports.
- Contributes to the project's communication and visibility strategy.
- Supports the development of new project proposals.
- Supports MEAL/IM specialist for planning, capacity strengthening, and implementation of MEAL activities.
- Supports Support Services team for finance, procurement, and administrative procedures.
- Plans costs, controls accounting, forecasts, and highlights unspent/unforeseen costs.
- Maintains a close relationship with Access, Safety & Base Manager for security management and reports breaches of security protocols.
Required Experience
- At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian work
- At least 1 year of experience engaging with local national actors (LNAs) in the context of RRM or any other emergency project
- Experience in cash transfers and protection activities will be considered an asset
Qualifications
• University degree (BAC+3 /4) in Social Sciences, Economics, Rural Development, project management or equivalent
