Overview
Provide teleradiology quality control and primary CXR reading services, second opinion reading, and radiological technical support for IOM migration health operations and non-IOM panel clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely reporting of all assigned CXRs and submitting reports to resettlement country websites on the same shift with quality chest x-ray reading.
- Review and interpret all digital chest X-rays (CXRs) assigned using the teleradiology web application and DICOM viewer software, identifying radiological signs of TB and other incidental findings, in accordance with technical guidelines of resettlement countries.
- Assess quality of chest radiographs to meet optimal diagnostic criteria and request for repeat CXR when suboptimal and additional views when needed.
- Assess CXR findings of follow-up radiographs of patients on anti-TB treatment, re-medicals, referrals and pre-departure medical screening (PDMS) CXRs and do comparison with previous CXR findings and report the change.
- Submit CXR reports to e-Medical websites correctly and timely for Canada, Australia and New Zealand cases, and to UKTB GS for UKTB cases.
- Recommend further imaging when needed and discuss with the panel physician.
- Participate and flexibly fit to the IOM radiologists working time schedule for the Teleradiology Centre according to caseload and timing of missions, and respect assigned working hours.
- Respond to queries from Panel physicians on chest x-ray reports, reviewing images, explaining findings, and revising reports if correction is needed.
- Coordinate with the Global Radiology Coordinator and/or the international radiologist for getting second opinion on CXR findings, addressing process concerns, and making recommendations.
- Coordinate with Teleradiology technical support and medical support staff for solving technical issues and timely completion of reports.
- Coordinate and guide radiographers and medical clerks in country missions X ray units for optimizing CXR quality, timely smooth e-Medical completion, getting list of daily schedules and delivery of reports.
- Cooperate for CXR related statistical works as needed.
- Ensure radiological reporting is fraud less and participate in internal and external image quality and CXR reports quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) measures.
- Arrange and ensure back up service is secured when going on leave and assist in establishing and training backup local radiologists if needed.
- Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Experience on chest radiology;
- Screening CXR reading experience;
- Experience in pediatric radiology an advantage;
- Teaching experience an advantage;
- Experience and Knowledge in software used for Digital Radiography an advantage.
Qualifications
- Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution in Medicine;
- Post graduate residency training in diagnostic radiology;
- Radiology board Certificate is a must.
