Overview

The Research Manager - Education will lead the design, implementation, and analysis of quantitative research activities to understand learning drivers and outcomes among Rohingya learners. The role involves managing datasets, conducting analyses, ensuring methodological rigor, and generating research outputs to inform policy and programming.


Key Responsibilities
  • Co-lead the design of research studies, including sampling strategies and survey tools.
  • Develop research questions, methodologies, and analytical frameworks.
  • Lead analysis of longitudinal data using appropriate statistical techniques.
  • Interpret analyses and generate research outputs such as policy briefs and manuscripts.
  • Work closely with database management to ensure high-quality database structures and data collection plans.
  • Oversee data cleaning, validation, and preparation for analyses.
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure high-quality field plans and data quality assurance mechanisms.
  • Monitor data quality during fieldwork and provide feedback.
  • Support piloting and refinement of survey tools.
  • Lead analyses and write-up of findings into actionable evidence.
  • Present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to knowledge dissemination strategies and engage with education sector stakeholders.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5-6 years of relevant work experience in quantitative or mixed methods research.
  • Experience working on large-scale, complex surveys and datasets.
  • Experience with sampling methodologies and survey design.
  • Experience with longitudinal or panel data analyses is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of research methods and prior training/experience in quantitative or mixed-methods research.
  • Track record of publishing research papers or contributing to rigorous research outputs.
  • Knowledge of education systems in Cox’s Bazar or in similar contexts.
  • Experience engaging with policymakers and translating evidence into practice.
  • Experience working in humanitarian settings is preferred.
Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, economics, anthropology, international development, public policy, or related fields required.

31st May 2027 (with possibility of extension subject to funding, program needs and performance of incumbent)
