Overview

The AV Archives & Metadata Coordinator will improve the organization and management of photo and video databases, update AV file organization policies, and coordinate AV digitization and archiving work.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Improve organization and management of CKMS photo and video databases and storage.
  • - Review, update and improve AV file organization, curation and archiving policies, procedures, training manuals and related documentation.
  • - Coordinate AV digitization and archiving work, including enhancing metadata, generating transcriptions, upscaling photos, verifying data integrity, and digitizing historic assets.
  • - Support the design and implementation of a systematic curation workflow for multimedia assets.
  • - Coordinate with the Communications team on management of newly curated AV assets.
  • - Provide training and support on digitization and metadata creation.
  • - Explore options for uploading additional multimedia assets to the ESCAP Repository.
  • - Act as point of contact for internal requests for historic AV content.
  • - Assist with additional digitization, metadata enhancement, and archive and preservation policy tasks.
Required Experience

Demonstrated experience with metadata management of multimedia assets or closely related work, preferably in the context of an international organization/s.

Qualifications

First-level university degree in library science, information or records management, information technology or related area is required.

Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
