Overview

The Programme Officer (Strategic Communications and Engagement) will support the Regional Support Office (RSO) of the Bali Process in its engagement, communication, and advocacy activities, as well as RSO strategic communications.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of the RSO Communications and Engagement Strategy.
  • Draft and contribute to editorial content and manage RSO digital engagement platforms.
  • Support editorial oversight and maintain quality standards for digital content.
  • Maintain and improve RSO core materials, including website content.
  • Support the coordination of RSO newsletters, social media, and website reports.
  • Provide support for RSO Flagship Event and conduct proactive communications.
  • Connect strategic objectives across RSO partnership and funding strategies.
  • Support RSO in-house photography, design, and brand guidelines adherence.
  • Represent the RSO in various forums.
  • Provide input to the RSO Impact Report and other RSO reporting.
  • Support RSO strategic activities and documents.
  • Support RSO internal communications function.
  • Provide administrative support for the Communications and Engagement Team.
  • Conduct weekly roundups on Top Headlines and maintain RSO media monitoring.
  • Support RSO engagement with media.
  • Maintain and oversee RSO publications stock.
  • Assist in the development and publishing of RSO strategies, guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Explore and introduce innovative communication formats and digital tools.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with Bali Process Member State government communications and media units and private sector communications and media.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the RSO, Bali Process Member States, and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate and model a high level of ethics, accountability, and personal integrity.
  • Manage and support development of interns.
  • Perform other such duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
  • At least three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated communications and engagement experience including knowledge of digital product development, strategy and management, digital audience targeting and content optimisation.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in achieving outcomes in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Experience in engaging with, drafting and reviewing communication materials for senior-level and wide-ranging intergovernmental audiences, ensuring alignment with institutional positioning.
Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or Masters (desirable) in a relevant field from an accredited academic institution

Remuneration
• The starting salary of USD $2,123 will be paid monthly. • Salary increases occur in line with the ‘RSO Personnel – Classification and Salary’ Guidelines. • Relocation assistance and working visa assistance will be provided by the IOM for the successful candidate, if required. • Should the Consultant be required to travel by the Organization, the Consultant will be provided with transportation or reimbursed for the cost of their travel following advance agreement and in accordance with IOM’s travel policies, including IN/6. • The Consultant will receive a Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA) according to IOM’s established rates, during their stay in the place of duty while on TDY.
