Overview
The WatHab Capacity Development Project Manager manages the design, planning, and implementation of water and habitat assistance in places of detention. The role focuses on recommending strategic orientations and specific projects based on needs and organizational capacities.
Key Responsibilities
- Define WatHab in Detention program objectives by monitoring situation and needs.
- Establish priorities and strategies, and design programs with stakeholders.
- Prepare project documentation, including drawings, bills of quantities, and contracts.
- Oversee project implementation to ensure compliance with project documents, ICRC standards, and local building codes.
- Review, approve, and provide guidance on design work.
- Conduct quality control during design and construction phases.
- Prepare and submit implementation, progress, and statistical reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of projects using ICRC-specific tools.
- Build and maintain a network of stakeholders.
- Manage tendering processes and oversee procurement.
- Monitor security and stakeholder-related issues.
- Conduct needs assessments and surveys.
- Supervise the handover of ICRC-installed infrastructure.
- Organize or facilitate training for end-users.
- Apply results-based management principles to evaluate project outcomes.
Required Experience
10 years of professional experience in architectural design, project management, humanitarian response and capacity building programs with local authorities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
