Overview
Provide high-level technical leadership in the implementation of climate-resilient health interventions under a Green Climate Fund supported initiative. This role supports the strengthening of climate change adaptation within health systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide rapid technical review and validation of ongoing activities.
- Support the development and refinement of climate-resilient health frameworks.
- Contribute to the design of tools, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the establishment of technical tracking systems and quality assurance mechanisms.
- Mentor and build the capacity of local technical assistants.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in climate change programming within an international NGO context.
- Strong experience in climate-resilient programming design and implementation at scale.
- Demonstrated experience in capacity building and technical mentoring.
- Strong understanding of Early Warning and Response Systems (EWRS) and the climate–health nexus.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret and apply technical data.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with government systems, particularly in development and implementation contexts.
- Willingness to travel to remote field locations as required.
- Desirable: Experience working within WHO-funded programmes or similar donor-funded climate/health initiatives.
- Desirable: Strong understanding of government institutional systems and coordination structures.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development, Climate Science, or a related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Climate Change may be considered for highly experienced candidates.
