Overview
The role focuses on the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes, operations, and other activities in an assigned functional area within human settlements. It involves providing substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of assigned programmes/projects.
- Monitor and analyze specific aspects of programme/project development and implementation.
- Conduct basic research on programmes, operations, and activities.
- Provide substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Assist in performing consulting assignments and developing action plans.
- Participate in survey initiatives, assist with data collection tool design, and analyze responses.
- Contribute to the preparation of various written outputs.
- Provide administrative and substantive support to meetings and conferences.
- Undertake outreach activities and participate in training workshops.
- Participate in field missions for substantive and administrative support and data collection.
- Coordinate activities related to budget funding and preparation of related documents.
- Provide strategic leadership and technical advisory for infrastructure programmes in crisis, recovery, and fragile contexts.
- Contribute to the collection and analysis of data, identification of trends, and provide draft insights using data visualization methods.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible work experience in urban development, planning and design.
- Experience in assisting management of programmes and projects.
- Experience in setting documentation standards, guidance and metrics for large projects.
- Experience in preparation of various written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications is desirable.
- Experience in policy development, including the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities and studies is desirable.
- A minimum of two (2) years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
- Experience in working in large multi cultural environments is desirable.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning, or a related field is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
