Overview
The Project Administrator will administer elements of technical cooperation programmes or specific projects of limited complexity and execution of technical cooperation programmes and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Select, organize, analyze and synthesize technical, policy, regulatory and market-related information relevant to international carbon markets, Article 6 implementation, climate transparency frameworks and industrial decarbonization initiatives.
- Assess and analyze national and sectoral readiness for participation in international carbon markets.
- Draft and contribute to the sections of technical project documents, concept notes, donor proposals, terms of reference, and analytical reports.
- Inform experts, consultants and other project participants about logistical arrangements and internal procedures for monitoring and reporting.
- Monitor specific aspects of project execution and identify problems and proposing that actions be taken to expedite delivery of inputs.
- Draft comments on designated aspects of project progress.
- Draft project revisions, including adjusting individual project budgets.
- Contribute to stakeholder coordination, partnership development and technical consultations.
- Support technical research and knowledge development related to carbon pricing instruments, voluntary and compliance carbon markets, industrial mitigation technologies, carbon credit methodologies, climate finance mechanisms, and integrity frameworks.
Required Experience
- At least three (3) years of work experience in area relevant for the recruiting office is required.
- Exposure to the needs, conditions and problems in developing countries is desirable.
- Experience in evaluating the needs, conditions and problems in developing countries, is desirable.
- Experience in the field of carbon markets, including experience at the international level, is desirable.
- Experience in engaging with governments, international organizations, private sector entities, financial institutions, and technical experts on matters related to carbon markets, emissions reduction/removal projects, climate policy, and sustainable industrial transformation, is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in engineering, sciences, economics, business administration, international relations or other relevant discipline is required.
