Overview
The Communications Intern will support efforts to increase understanding of DRC's work by assisting in the development and dissemination of high-quality communication materials. The role contributes to enhancing visibility and ensuring outputs align with organizational guidelines, donor requirements, and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support in the implementation of the Communications and Visibility plan of the Country-Based Pool Fund (CBPF) funded project.
- Coordinate with field communication focal points for timely approval and publication of content.
- Liaise with the Head Quarters (HQ) communications team for publication on DRC’s communication platforms.
- Conduct editing, standardizing and producing communication products.
- Ensure communication and visibility materials provided by vendors have the right logos.
- Identification of key communications and visibility needs.
- Support in organizing training for staff in communication and visibility.
- Ensure consent forms are used correctly.
- Update country fact sheets, newsletter and profile documents.
- Support in coordinating visibility during commemoration of international days.
- Ensure filing of the communications and visibility products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
• Basic communications experience
Qualifications
- Ongoing University degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Media studies or related field.
- Strong computer/digital skills.
- Skills in managing social media.
- Ability to support training.
- Ability to use communication tools such as Canva and Adobe.
