Overview
Provide leadership and guidance to the Radionuclide Unit, overseeing its work programme, development, and implementation of processes to ensure effective operation of the IMS network.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Radionuclide Unit.
- Supervise, coach, mentor and evaluate staff, and coordinate work activities.
- Plan, implement and monitor the Unit’s work programme.
- Lead and supervise the timely development and implementation of processes, procedures, and reporting mechanisms.
- Provide scientific, engineering and technical advice on radionuclide monitoring.
- Manage radionuclide projects.
- Oversee the management of multiple concurrent, complex radionuclide projects globally.
- Supervise, coordinate and conduct site surveys, site preparation, installation, status assessments, certification, revalidation and post-certification support of radionuclide stations and laboratories.
- Identify required actions, and supervise and coordinate solutions to ensure the proper functioning of radionuclide facilities.
- Supervise, coordinate and conduct activities supporting radionuclide monitoring station operations.
- Liaise with government officials, designated institutions and contractors.
- Coordinate, supervise and participate in scientific, engineering and technical meetings.
- Prepare and present materials for Commission meetings, IMS training programmes, and technical workshops and conferences.
- Collaborate on advanced studies on next-generation radionuclide stations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- At least seven (7) years of progressive increase in responsibility within relevant working experience on radionuclide monitoring or a related field.
- Preferably part of which should have been at an international level.
- Experience in radionuclide monitoring technology development is desirable.
- Demonstrated supervisory and team management experience is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in project management is essential.
- Sound level of judgement, responsibility and initiative is essential.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in multicultural environment is essential.
- Proven ability to build relevant strategic partnerships and alliances with key stakeholders and partners is essential.
- Ability to design and manage complex, result-based technical assistance programmes/projects, preferably in the radionuclide field, is essential.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in nuclear physics, engineering or a related field.
