Overview
The Educator will support the implementation of educational programs and the improvement of educational activities for Unaccompanied Migrant Children in accommodation centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify educational levels and prepare individual educational plans.
- Register children for school and monitor attendance.
- Plan and implement educational programs and remedial teaching, including Greek language instruction.
- Ensure inclusion in vocational training programs.
- Develop activities for creative use of free time.
- Plan and implement educational excursions and recreational programs.
- Maintain individual records and information about activities.
- Map local activities and establish synergies with local actors.
- Cooperate with community actors for daily activities.
- Assist and/or instruct children in health/hygiene and personal habits.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience
- At least one year of relevant professional experience is desirable.
- Previous experience working with children is considered an asset.
- Experience in developing and delivering life skills, educational skills training programmes to children.
- Computer literacy in standard software applications (MS Office, etc) is required.
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage.
Qualifications
• University degree in Education, Pedagogy, or a related field from an accredited academic institution corresponding to teachers of all specialties, a subject that meets the age and needs of minors.
