Overview
The Field Security Associate will actively assist with all aspects of staff safety and security management in Ukraine, implementing procedures to address potential impacts on personnel and assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain working relationships with security officials and counterparts.
- Develop, implement, and test a functioning warden system.
- Provide safety/security briefings and coordinate travel security.
- Support daily check-ins of international staff head counts.
- Maintain relationships with security service providers and oversee payments.
- Review and monitor compliance on Security Risk Management Measures and Residential Security Measures.
- Develop, implement, and test office-specific security plans.
- Monitor and report on deployment numbers and security clearance procedures.
- Test emergency communication systems and post security advisories.
- Report security matters impacting operations.
- Conduct preliminary enquiries into security breaches/incidents.
- Coordinate response to incidents and liaise with local authorities.
- Respond to management complaints/recommendations.
- Conduct security assessments and offer risk mitigation recommendations.
- Organize and deliver training on security and safety awareness.
- Coordinate with HR on staff lists and upload to OSS Share Point.
- Report for duty during official holidays and after normal working hours for incidents.
Required Experience
- Seven years of relevant experience with a high school diploma; or five years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Security Management/Social Sciences, Law, Disaster Management, International Studies, Communications or a related field.
- Previous experience in UN Missions, International Peacekeeping or Emergency Missions is an advantage.
- Experience in planning and execution of security measures in UN agencies or organizations is highly desirable.
- Passing the UN Security Certification Programme (SCP) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in dealing with law enforcement agencies is an advantage.
- Proven ability to collaborate with senior military and government counterparts is an advantage.
- Experience working in hardship duty stations and having previous training in hostage incident management scenarios would be an advantage.
- SSAFFE TOT or other official UN TOT certification would be an advantage.
Qualifications
High school diploma; or Bachelor’ degree in Security Management/Social Sciences, Law, Disaster Management, International Studies, Communications or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
