Overview
The Contracts Associate position provides foundational support and ensures smooth day-to-day strategic sourcing, contracting, and procurement services for a range of health commodities.
Key Responsibilities
- Research potential suppliers and prepare Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for Health commodities.
- Prepare a fit for purpose UNFPA product catalogue.
- Review and check supplier compliance to BPAs’ and contractual terms and conditions.
- Implement sourcing, contracting and procurement strategy.
- Contribute to an environment of knowledge retention and sharing.
- Review and approve procurement orders up to authorized limits.
- Implement Vendor sanction decisions.
- Implement activities related to UNFPA’s Governance, Risk, Compliance and Reporting function.
- Provide input and analysis to the Planning Team for forecasting and quantification exercises.
- Support the implementation of UNFPA's capacity-strengthening initiatives.
- Train supply chain professionals and support their development.
- Appreciate UNFPA's supply chain thought leadership.
- Support improved supply chain execution.
- Support UNFPA’s value proposition and relationships with donors and partners.
- Assist with the preparation of SCMU’s resource mobilization proposals.
- Maintain effective collaboration with relevant stakeholders within UNFPA.
- Maintain relationships with supply chain counterparts.
- Attend and participate in meetings related to supply chain management functions.
- Carry out any other duties as may be required by the Chief, SCMU.
Required Experience
- A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, logistics or supply chain operations or related areas is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to 3 years for candidates who possess a relevant first-level or advanced university degree.
- Candidates should demonstrate experience in facilitating preparatory work for their organization’s participation in international public health coordinating bodies or group meetings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and capability to develop and maintain broad diversified partnerships is required.
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is required.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education is required.
- A University degree at Bachelor Level in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Logistics, Marketing, International Relations, Development Studies, International Commerce, or equivalent field is an asset.
- A professional Supply Chain Management certification such as Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) at Level 2 and/or Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT-UK) at Level 2 would be an additional asset.
