Overview

The Reporting and Information Management Officer will support reporting, information management, and communications activities across WFP Kenya operations, contributing to strengthened data collection, analysis, and knowledge management capacity.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the drafting, editing and consolidation of reporting products.
  • Assist in compiling information and inputs from field offices and programme units.
  • Contribute to the preparation of donor-based communication and reporting materials.
  • Support the development of presentations, briefing notes, and talking points.
  • Ensure reporting materials are aligned with WFP communication standards.
  • Support the organization, management and dissemination of programme and reporting information.
  • Maintain and update information storage, content trackers, and knowledge management systems.
  • Assist in consolidating programme data, field inputs and visibility materials.
  • Support the packaging and presentation of information into accessible formats.
  • Contribute to knowledge management initiatives.
  • Support the drafting and quality control of human-interest stories, field stories, and programme highlights.
  • Conduct background research and support the management of information, quotes, and field insights.
  • Support the development of written content for publications, web stories, newsletters, and internal communication products.
  • Assist in drafting communication materials including briefing notes, talking points, and social media content.
  • Support the development and dissemination of communication and visibility materials.
  • Contribute to communication and outreach efforts.
  • Ensure storytelling and communication products uphold humanitarian communication principles.
  • Liaise with programme, field, and technical teams to gather timely information.
  • Support coordination of reporting and communication requests.
  • Support coordination and information sharing between the WFP Kenya Country Office and the Resident Coordinator's Office (RCO).
  • Assist in ensuring timely communication and follow-up between WFP Kenya and the RCO.
  • Support collaboration between country office and field office teams.
  • Support knowledge sharing and information dissemination initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in communications, reporting, content development, information management or related fields is desirable.
  • Experience drafting reports, communication materials, human-interest stories, or donor visibility content is desirable.
  • Familiarity with humanitarian, development or UN-related work environments is desirable.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and working in multicultural environments is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting knowledge management, information consolidation or inter-agency coordination processes is an asset.
Qualifications

• Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, Development Studies, Information Management, Public Relations or a related field.

Remuneration
A UN Volunteer receives a Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) per month and is paid at the end of each month to cover housing, utilities, transportation, communications and other basic needs. UNV provides life, health, permanent disability insurances as well as assignment travel, annual leave, full integration in the UN security framework (including residential security reimbursements). UN Volunteers are paid Daily Subsistence Allowance at the UN rate for official travels, flight tickets for the final repatriation travel (if applicable). A resettlement allowance is paid for satisfactory service at the end of the assignment.
