Overview
Lead the Business Development Unit to drive fundraising, proposal development, and donor engagement to grow the funding portfolio in line with the Country Strategic Plan and Humanitarian Response Plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a resource mobilisation strategy.
- Build and manage relationships with institutional donors, UN agencies, National Offices, and partners.
- Identify funding opportunities and lead proposal and concept note development.
- Manage the proposal pipeline, funding trackers, and reporting calendars.
- Ensure strong coordination across programme, finance, and support teams.
- Lead consortium bids and support partner engagement.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal policies.
- Capture and share learning to strengthen proposal quality.
- Integrate gender equality and humanitarian standards.
- Manage and develop a team of grants and business development specialists.
- Contribute to Country Management Team leadership and programme performance.
Required Experience
- A proven track record of securing grants and developing successful donor proposals
- Significant experience in resource mobilisation within humanitarian and/or development settings, particularly in an emergency context
- Strong knowledge of donor requirements, consortium bids, and project cycle management
- Experience working in the region is highly desirable
Qualifications
• A Master’s degree in a relevant field or experience of working in a related field for an extended period of time.
