Shelter Coordinator

Overview

The Shelter Coordinator will oversee the orderly operation of an assigned Accommodation Center for Unaccompanied Minors, ensuring the provision of accommodation and access to services. The role involves supervising staff, managing facilities, and coordinating administrative and financial aspects of the center.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee facility conditions, maintenance, and repairs.
• Ensure food quality and cleanliness of premises.
• Supervise UMC participation in programs and gather feedback.
• Coordinate escort of UMC for external services.
• Prepare and supervise staff shift schedules.
• Coordinate staff duties and ensure effective communication.
• Plan and conduct individual staff performance meetings.
• Supervise the complaint mechanism.
• Supervise financial and administrative management, including procurement and inventory.
• Coordinate administrative procedures for UMC reception and departure.
• Coordinate administrative issues with external services.
• Supervise and monitor scientific work and act as a point of reference for scientific staff.
• Prepare program of services and activities.
• Plan and supervise interdisciplinary and scientific meetings.
• Ensure timely referral of UMC to specialized external agencies.

Required Experience

Minimum two years of relevant work experience in a field related to child protection or the protection of unaccompanied minors or vulnerability management or the reception of applicants for international protection or the integration of recognized beneficiaries of international protection; Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment; Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees.

Qualifications

University degree in Social Work or Humanitarian Sciences from an accredited academic institution; Master’s degree in above fields an advantage; Training in one or more of below subjects an advantage: child protection; the protection of unaccompanied minors; vulnerability management; the reception of applicants for international protection; the integration of recognized beneficiaries of international protection.
