Overview
The Senior Project Associate will lead and coordinate the implementation of labour mobility programming in Solomon Islands, ensuring adherence to IOM policies and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently lead and coordinate the implementation of the labour mobility project.
- Monitor implementation of activities and analyse difficulties to make recommendations for adjustments.
- Research, compile, analyse and present information on national, regional and international developments.
- Monitor budget expenditures and maintain records of approved project budgets.
- Coordinate and monitor financial, administrative and technical aspects of the project.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct capacity building workshops and trainings.
- Organize stakeholder meetings and networking events, producing meeting records.
- Participate in meetings and conferences, maintaining liaison with local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate the preparation of correspondence, briefing notes, presentations, narrative and financial reports.
- Identify and document good practices and lessons learned, contributing to SOPs and concept papers.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree with five years of relevant professional experience; or, High School diploma with seven years of relevant experience.
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage;
- Prior work experience with return migrant workers in Solomon Islands, or participation in labour mobility schemes is a distinct advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, Economic Development or related fields from an accredited academic institution; or, High School diploma.
