Overview
The WBG Pioneer - Investment Analyst Intern will support IFC’s investment activities in Central Africa, focusing on business development, sector mapping, and transaction execution. The internship offers hands-on experience in IFC's investment cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market, industry, financial, and strategic analysis to identify and evaluate investment opportunities.
- Support business development through sector mapping, identification of prospective clients and sponsors, and analysis of market players.
- Assist in evaluating prospective investments by analyzing business models, operating performance, financial statements, ownership structures, development impact potential, and key transaction risks.
- Support transaction execution by preparing financial analyses, debt and equity financial models, and contributing to transaction structuring.
- Prepare internal investment documentation, including Early Look notes, Concept Notes, and other materials.
- Collaborate with investment staff and cross-functional teams to advance transactions.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing by documenting market intelligence, transaction insights, and lessons learned.
Required Experience
0–2 years of relevant professional experience, including internships, in investment banking, corporate finance, transaction services, financial audit, credit risk, private equity, consulting, or a related field.
Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, a postgraduate (master’s/PhD) program in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
